Wire and Light is a musical act from Ottawa, Ontario. It currently has one member. His name is David Emery.
David grew up in Peterborough, Ontario. He heard the song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana for the first time when he was 12 years old. By 14, he was in his first band with two other high school friends. The trio eventually became a grunge foursome known as Acid Lamb. Traces of it can still be mined from the web.

David has played the bass guitar since 8th grade music class. He got a "C" on his final performance test. After high school, he spent the greater part of his time not wanting to leave post-secondary institutions and got a few diplomas and degrees out of it. In college, he started fiddling around with DOS tracking programs on his 486 and recorded a score of electronic compositions, none of which survived. In 2006, he joined Ottawa rock band Black Hill as its bassist. A year later, he moved to Toronto. Less than a year after that, he moved back to Ottawa and started recording his own music.
Wire and Light records in a basement apartment bedroom in Centretown. The walls of the room are painted blue. The songs are influenced by David's arts education and love for chord changes.
